It's hard to explain to anybody the amount of time and dedication it takes to design and make a custom piece of furniture.
No two designs at Will Brennan Designs have ever been the same, nor will they ever be.

Each piece of sustainably made furniture has been individually handcrafted, it’s quite the opposite to fast furniture.

We as makers put our heart and soul into each design - often I lay in bed thinking about how we are going to complete a build. How each join will fit together and how the colour, texture, and timbers will match. It almost becomes an obsession.
As a furniture maker, you can definitely go down the lane of making a product line. The draw card of custom furniture is working with the client to get what they really want or love in their home and for them to add the connection that they were part of the design process.

The clients we are aiming for are conscientious consumers. They are designing and buying furniture to have the product for a long time.
Sustainability…
Sustainability doesn't just rest with the consumers. It also lies with us as producers, to use as much as possible and really reduce our waste.
So here in the Will Brennan Designs workshop, we use all types of timber. From recycled, fresh-cut furniture grade timbers. Too hard and softwoods. We buy from Britton Timbers, a merchant out of Sydney. They have mills in Tasmania and also up the east coast - we can get our hands on all sorts of timbers.
Tell us what you want!
We want people to get involved in the design process and give us feedback. We don’t want people saying they just want a table. We want them to be part of the design. We want them to choose their timbers, choose their finishes, state how many people it will sit and describe what chairs they will be matching it with. We’re here to offer advice but also a quality product.
Longevity…
We definitely want our custom-made furniture to be here in 100 years' time. It’s a great thought process to think that when you’re working on a table, it’s going to last longer than you will.
We’ve had families come in and help join their tabletops. It’ll then be a fight amongst the kids to get the table someday because of that emotional connection.
We’ve had people walk into other people's houses and treat furniture we’ve made like a piece of art saying, is that a Will Brennan?
